Overview
This is an extension activity to the Neural Network Game that specifically focuses on the possibility of using virtual Neural Networks to diagnose medical issues.
Time: Teacher Led 20-30 minutes
Teacher Tips:
- Please do the Neural Network activity with the pictures first, so that students have an understanding of input, hidden, and output layers, as well as how feeding forward, evaluation and back propagation works.
- Then, with a background understanding of body systems, triage, and homeostasis, students will be given symptoms of medical issues, and work as a Neural Network to offer a possible diagnosis, strengthening the network as they back propagate.
