Activity Overview
This activity allows students to explore a text generator. It asks them to create an opening sentence of a story (seed text) and use the text generator to complete the story. If time, students also add an image to illustrate their story.
Total Activity Time: 25 minutes
Materials:
- Storytelling with GANs slides
Options for Differentiation
- During the Storytelling with AI activity, direct students towards the corpora of texts aligned with their reading level (e.g., Dr. Seuss and Knock Knock jokes offer accessible vocabulary) or interests (e.g. The Watsons Go To Birmingham and Harry Potter).
- During the Storytelling with AI activity, show students that they can generate long or short texts by using the slider of the text generator tool to adjust the length of the generated passage. This can be particularly useful for students who prefer to work with less text.
